Former 4-term legislator Grier Martin will seek the House District 34 seat being vacated by Rep. Deborah Ross. Ross will resign to take a position as General Counsel with the Triangle Transit Authority.
“It was my privilege to represent the people of District 34 for 8 years. After being double bunked with my friend Rep. Ross in abusive redistricting, I made the decision to step aside. I had no doubt District 34 would be well served by Rep. Ross, and it has been. She will be an outstanding addition to the Triangle Transit Authority,” Martin said.
“Today I am announcing I will seek to serve the people of the 34th District again, and I’m honored to have the support of Rep. Ross. I look forward to speaking with members of the Wake County Democratic Party Executive Committee, and all interested constituents about how we can continue to make our community the best place to live and work in America,” Martin concluded.

Congratulations Grier! The state will be better with more public servants like in office.
I support Grier Martin to fill the vacated N. C. House District 34. Grier has the experience and vision to carry on the effective leadership needed in the General Assembly today. With the Republicans in full control of the legislative process at this time, we need a representative who can parry and fence with them from day one to get all that is possible for the welfare of the people–and that means all of the people of North Carolina. As a fellow veteran, I know Grier will also be an asset for the best interests of our N. C. veteran community and for our military installations that both protects us from harm and provide much needed employment for their respective communities.
Grier,
As a precinct chair and SEC member from the 34th District, you have my support for replacing Deborah Ross.
I had the pleasure of working with you during your previous tenure, and you have always been available to discuss important issues. I know that you will be a strong voice for us in the General Assembly!

Looking forward to supporting you with your plans to return to the NCGA. Your leadership in the legislature has always meant a lot to the people of N.C and as a member of the Wake County Delegation we need your leadership again. How can I not support a fellow soldier and JAG officer.

Grier, you were a great representative when you served and how exciting that this opportunity has come your way. I am so happy that you will be back in the House.
We will be honored to have you back in the House- we know you will take up many of the causes that Deborah Ross leaves behind- please let us know if you need volunteer help, particularly when it comes to legislation involving women. Kim Hanchette (TrustWomenNC, neighbor, and wife of 69′ TR-4 driver)
